Assistant Professor

In the fall of 2016, I joined the ACCK family (Associated Colleges of Central Kansas), serving as an instructor for the High-Incidence Special Education Program. I began my professional career in Manhattan, KS in a secondary low incidence program while completing graduate school.  After earning my Masters Degree in Special Education with an endorsement in Mental Retardation(Intellectual Disability) from KSU, we moved back to Salina thus beginning my 24 year journey with USD #305/CKCIE serving students in various K-12 special needs programs.

It is an honor to  bring 25 years of teaching experience  to ACCK after working in various educational settings serving students from mild to severe needs in settings from the most restrictive(self-contained) to team teaching in the  inclusive setting at K-12 grade levels.  My classes place a strong emphasis on real world experience working with children in the field, while emphasizing the best practices for teaching students who have high-incidence disabilities. I believe in creative thinking using a team approach and look forward to guiding your passion for making a difference in the world of special education.
